Tehsil Tangir A Paradise On Earth

The valley of Tangir is the most famous Tehsil of District Diamer.The population of tangir is approximately thirty thousands.
LOCATION                                                               The valley of Tangir is a Sub division of Distt. Diamer.Its boundaries are connected in East with Chilas, on the West side the area of Kohistan(khandia).The south boundary is connected with Kohistan(hurban) and River Indus, while at North the famous and beautiful valley Ghizer(Gupis) is situated.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The preaching of Islam started there, after the death of Shah Ismail Shaheed.The Islamic preaching entered in the Northern areas through this region because of its close connection with NWFP.This region was remained for long period under the system of (YAGISTAN).Though there were some local  Rulers called RAJA’s but they could not maintain their Govt. for long period because all the Raja people were foreigner and the people of this region did not accept the sovereignty of any outsider in vendors.

In 1952 due to the efforts of regional Malik, Malik.Wahab Shah included tehsil Tangir with Pakistan and Mr. Iqbal brother of chief martial Gen.Ayub khan was the first political agent of tangir.

Culture
The people of Tangir are leading their lives in a very simple way. They all are strong religious. The factor like hospitality, brevity and morality are common among the people of this region. Unity among people is at the peek even they agree with the decisions of Elder Counsel. The Jerga systems often prevent people to appear in Govt courts for their conflicts.Tangir valley contributes at least 18 different caste having different dialects. Sheen,yushkun,kameen are the  famous caste of the valley.
Weather
Being  a part of Pakistan this valley also have four seasons  in a calendar year but the duration of seasons are different from rest of the country. Each new Year starts with the intense cold and heavy snow falling in January to the end of February.Spring emerges in March and continuous upto the mids of May. Jun,July and August are passing in the summer season.The autumn is a short period from September  to end of October.Novomber and December bounds people to their houses  because of  intense cold of Winter.
Natural Resources
Nature gifted the green forest to this region. These famous forest includes (Far,diyar, cheer and kail) are famous and available in much quantity. The agreement with Pakistan in 1952 One of the demand of Malik Wahab shah was that the ownership of forest must be of local peoples.Therefore,the local people has complete (Malkiyat) on forest.For protection of forest  the Govt provided the forestry staff to Teh.Tangir.The income of people totally  depend on forest.   Other natural resources contain the abundance of WILD LIFE. In these dense forests the vulnerable species of animals are found; they are named in Urdu like ros, barasinga, mor, hiran, and many more. This valley lacks the vulnerability of water resources. Number of lakes, rivers, and springs increase the beauty of this valley. The water of this valley contains few species of fishes. Trout is popular in fishing resource of Tangir.Govt in collaboration with the local scientist Mr.Sharif Shah has built fish pounds in each village to serve the fishery resource of Tangir.Mines may found in the mountains of this region, although yet there is no discovery of mines at very large scale been made. But it is obvious the presence of huge mines in the valley. This valley produces two types of crops in a fiscal year. These crops are maize and wheat. People heavily depend on these crops.
HEALTH CARE
For health purpose the Govt.of Pakistan has established a civil hospital consisted on 50 beds and there are also dispensaries in each village. One medical officer and other dispensers are serving in tangir.
Education/LITERACY
Literacy rate of this area is very low as compared to other parts of NAs.There are two main reasons behind it .First it become the part of Pakistan later on than other region of NAs.The people were not aware about modern education system.The second reason is that they prefer Islamic education as compared to English system of education.Dispite of these facts few who got education they are intelligent and are enjoying the high ranks in services. But in present time the people take keen interest in modern education and they sent their children to other provinces of Pakistan for getting education. Many Boys are getting education in Abbottabad NWFP.The Govt. has established an inter college and two High schools in tangir and there are primary schools in each village of tangir.
 POPULAR VALLIES IN TANGIR
Although every and each valley of tangir is famous and beautiful like heaven on Earth. Few of these Juglote,Gali bala ,Lurak,Satil and Baro gah are very famous. But all of these natural gifted places Teh.tangir can not progress because there was no any transportation system to tangir. But now the present Govt.is constructing a new road which leads tangir to Distt, Ghizer and this new road may increase the present beauty of this region.
